1926 Ford opened an assembly plant in Berlin. Since 1931 the Ford halls are based in Köln. At first the German Fords carried their brand name with the additive "German product". In the fifties a gentle emancipation succeeded to the Ford managers in Köln, so they were allowed to export their own models too.
